Take a look at the photos of 6W investigating flame colours with different ions reacting to heat. Mr Teesdale came to help and we observed some further fun experiments including lighting magnesium to understand why it is used in flares and the slightly more explosive calcium!

U10 B Rugby Festival @ LGJS on Wednesday 20th November 2019
Copthill took the Y5 boys to Leicester Grammar on Wednesday to participate in a festival of rugby.
Here are the boys doing their 3 cheers after a match and lining up as an attacking line!
All the boys tried very hard in what was a very wet and boggy ground and got colder as the afternoon went on. The opposition was very tough to say the least.
Player of the match for the U10B team was Ben Alliston (who moved to the A team halfway through the afternoon) & Oliver Brown.
Well done to all the boys who took part.
